• The New School's "Summer Safari"

Come join us for a summer safari that will be full of fun and friendship! Everyday students will engage in daily activities that will fuel the mind and body. The summer will engage kids in a variety of awesome activities in technology, science, sports and the arts.

Of equal importance is the time we spend strengthening social skills. Our specially-trained staff help children learn techniques for building friendships and getting along with others. This is done through a weekly social skills group, sports and games, and a weekly social mixer where kids will have a special picnic-style lunch while socializing with their friends. Finally, to make sure reading and math skills are maintained and strengthened over the summer break, each day begins with Surfing Safari and Chocolate Safari. Every book children read and math project they complete propels them to a special prize.

Primary students in grades in K-4 will have a sweet start to their day as they keep their reading and math skills sharp with Chocolate Safari which will engage kids in some chocolate learning activities that are so fun they'll forget they are actually learning! Kids will become computer whizzes with daily computer time. They will discover how to use technology to create awesome projects.

Kids will also explore a variety of fun and educational activities through engaging centers that include:

Child Science Investigators
The kids will become trained scientists as they join our CSI team and explore in our class science lab. They will even get to experience a CSI adventure!

Construction Safari
It’s been said, if you build it, they will come. Well, this summer the students will get their chance to build it in our construction station. They will use a variety of building materials and their imaginations to construct incredible and fun structures.

Music Safari
Students will rock the house with some musical activities that will get everyone up on their feet! Karaoke, Guitar Hero and Dance, Dance Revolution will have students bringing down the house!

Arts Safari
Students will imagine, dream and create in our classroom art studio. They will really get to explore their creativity through a variety of art media from paints to computer generated art.

All-Stars Safari
Kids will get moving with a variety of all-star physical activities that will keep them fit and healthy.

World Safari
Kids will love exploring our cultural center with hands-on learning experiences that will allow them to discover the world we all share.

Middle School students in grades 5-9 will engage in a variety of interesting, intellectual and fun activities that will challenge their growing minds and bodies. Every day will start with Surfing Safari which will allow kids to surf the net in search of challenging computer activities that will keep their reading and math skills sharp over the summer.

Kids will have a blast with a variety of engaging and social activities that will keep them entertained and challenged.

Cyber Safari
Get ready for a sensational computer adventure. Kids will experience technology in new and creative ways. They will become techno savvy and take their computer skills to the next level.

Science Safari
The students will take part in some fascinating science experiences throughout the summer. They will explore and experiment making science come to life.

Arts Safari
Students will get daily opportunities to explore their creativity through a variety of art media and computer art and drama.

Summer Survivor Safari
Students will engage in some interesting physical challenges such as obstacle courses, and team sports that will challenge their physical abilities while making them fit and healthy.

Social Safari
Kids will have opportunities to connect through a variety of activities that will encourage social interaction. Through games and projects the kids will work together learning to brainstorm, negotiate and compromise while discovering the value of relationships with their peers.

Fees
Costs for the Summer Program are $1,395. per month. Scholarships are available. Families who have made other plans for part of the summer may attend fewer weeks at a reduced cost.

By special arrangement, families may request an optional extended day until 3:00 p.m. on Mondays - Thursdays when neither parent is available at 1:00 p.m. due to employment or geography. The additional cost for this service is $100.00 per week. The summer program is open to children from all schools.
