This year’s conference benefited from the participation of directors, teachers, and psychoanalysts from The Allen Creek School in Ann Arbor , MI , the Chicago School of Psychology, The Hanna Perkins School in Cleveland , Ohio , and The Lucy Daniels School in Raleigh-Durham , NC . Local clinicians were invited to attend free of charge because of generous grants from the American Psychoanalytic Association and an individual donor. Next year’s conference is scheduled to be at The Hanna Perkins School in Cleveland which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The 2010 Conference of the Alliance for Psychoanalytic Schools was hosted by the New School in the Heights on October 22-24. This annual event is a time for psychoanalytic schools nationally to meet and share their work. This year The New School in the Heights highlighted some of the unique work done by our clinical teams consisting of teachers, Parent Helpers, and “meeting doctors” who work therapeutically with selected students. The New School in the Heights is the only psychoanalytic, therapeutic school that serves children ages 5-14.
